But the company has to do something convincingly good for me to upgrade. Maybe Corel will develop that kind of feature some day. I might want to search for some words and easily be able to open each file to see how the words were used. I cannot believe that the search is erased once a file is opened. But at least I am glad that someone said that's how it works.

I guess I already knew that was what happens. Finally, I got a note back that was terse and simply told me that in the WP search window, once I click on a file to open it, the search is erased. I have gotten rather weary, trying to get someone within Corel to help me with the search tool. If you think there is a strong case to be made to try to use the WP search tool along with your macro, let me know. Yes, I have a few things to learn to use the FL Pro software well. It appears to be quite user friendly compared to Word Perfect's search tool.

SO, WHAT I WANT TO KNOW is either 1.) how to fully use the WP search tool or 2.) how to use the Windows Explorer tool to find Word Perfect documents. However, if I want to check out the other 20 files in the list of files, I do not know how to return to that list automatically. Essentially, I go to the open menu, I use the advanced search tool at the bottom, and I can come up with a list of files. I can get only a little satisfaction in searching with WP. (Note: I have Word Perfect 10 as well as the trial version of X3). So then I tried to use Word Perfect to search for the word in a set of files. When I search with Windows Explorer, it comes up with the RTF file but not the WPD file.

I have even experimented and saved a Word Perfect file that contains the 'red wagon' text to an RTF file. When I use the search tool from Windows Explorer to try to find text (for example 'red wagon') in a list of Word Perfect files, Windows Explorer does not seem to work with Word Perfect files.
